Sonic Koco featuring Penny Martin - “Don’t Fade Away” ©2012
First recorded as an instrumental in 2011, this new vocal version is the band’s first collaboration with songstress Penny Martin. Penny Martin started singing from the age of seven and has been surrounded with music all her life. Her talented musical parents encouraging her and three of her six brothers to take up music. In fact one of her brothers is Trevor Leeson, the lead guitarist from the UK's Sixties band The Mersey Beats. Penny has covered many well-known ballads with a variety of singing styles. She has an exceptional vocal range and this collaboration with Sonic Koco shows her immense capability in delivering a powerful song like Don't Fade Away which Penny has sung beautifully.

Sonic Koco – “Yesterday’s Gone” ©2012
Recorded by the band early this year and released on YouTube in September 2012, "Yesterday's Gone" is quite a spiritual song that has a rather unusual theme about a conversation with a spiritual being. It's uplifting and positive vibe is about someone watching over you; giving you the hope and the belief in looking forward and not looking back. For example, one of the lines in the song; "You can feel my faith is with you, deep inside where I truly need you", is like having a conversation between you and your spiritual soul. “Yesterday’s Gone” was written, recorded and sung by the band at their Weybridge studios.

SONIC KOCO’S FEATURED CLASSIC SONG OF THE MONTH

Only When I Dream of Open Spaces

Sonic Koco – “Only When I Dream of Open Spaces” ©2009
Here is one of the real classic instrumental songs from Sonic Koco. Recorded in 2009 and released in 2010, “Only When I Dream of Open Spaces” is from their very first album “Big Wave”. Smooth, tranquil and thought-provoking, it is one of their first ever recordings; written by the band in their typical dreamy rock style. This song in particular set the generic agenda of what is today’s musical creative sound by the band, and its own unique brand of ambient rock. It was also featured on their Best of Sonic Koco – Volume 1 released in 2010.
